Business and Economy
The economy of this country hasnt been very good. This is because of the fact that this is a very small country and there has been absolute derth of foreign investment in this country. The economic policies of this country also havent been very promising to attract the foreign investors.Primarily this country has been depending on the forests for its growth. This fact is there in the history books that the economy primarily depende on the forests in the initial phases but as this started decreasing, the country started to depend on the sugar industry which by this time had taken the place of the forests. This sugar industry took the place of the logwood and the mahogany industry and the country was managing depending only on this industry. The soul reason for the economy not doing good was the lack of foreign investment and the policies of the country.
The major cities of this country have nopt been able to attract that sizeable chunk of foreign investment as the policies of this country havent been investor friendly. This country is not considered to be a developing country and due to this reason, there is almost zero investment by the foreign investors. Apart from this, even the tourism industry is not doing well because there are not many beautiful sights to see in this country. Some of the major cities of this country are Belmopan,Corozal,Orange walk,Dangriga,Punta Gorda and San Ignacio.
